ROGER HUNT MBE: 1938 – 2021
The LMA is deeply saddened by the passing of English football legend Roger Hunt MBE, who died on Monday at the age of 83.
Roger spent 11 years with Liverpool, winning two league titles and an FA Cup under manager Bill Shankly. Roger became the club's record goalscorer with 286 goals, until being overtaken by Ian Rush, and remains Liverpool's record league goalscorer with 244 goals.
Roger was a member of the England national team which won the 1966 FIFA World Cup, playing in all England's six games, scoring three times. Hunt was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
