MARTIN JOL WINS EGYPTIAN PREMIER LEAGUE WITH AL AHLY

Martin Jol has led Al Ahly to the Egypt Premier League in his first season as manager.

Martin took over the side in February 2016 and had an instant impact, going 11 games unbeaten in his first two months in charge and with Al Ahly still competing in the African Champions League, Martin will be looking to complete the double with his new club.

The Egyptian Premier League is Martin's first championship title having previously won the dutch KNVB Cup twice with Roda JC and Ajax respectively.

On his achievement LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson said: "As a manager, it is very difficult to go to a new country, mid-way through the season and hit the ground running. However, Martin is an experienced and tactically astute manager who has proven his ability in the Premier League and with some top teams throughout Europe and now he has demonstrated his worth to Al Ahly and those throughout African football. We congratulate Martin on his league win and wish him great success in the future."
