The LMA is deeply saddened by the passing of George Curtis, former joint-manager of The FA Cup winning Coventry City team, who has died at the age of 82.

A stalwart of Coventry City, George played 487 matches for the club between 1955 and 1969. He won two league titles with City and a third league title with his only other club, Aston Villa. After retiring from playing in 1972, George went on to hold various roles at Coventry City including Commercial Manager and Managing Director. In 1986, George answered the club's call to manage the side and the following season, he and joint-manager John Sillett led the club to its first and only FA Cup title in 1987. He later returned to his administrative role as Managing Director of Coventry City until his retirement in 1994.

The thoughts of everyone at the LMA are with George's friends and family at this very sad time.
