BURTON APPOINT HASSELBAINK

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been confirmed as the new manager of Burton Albion.

Following the appointment he said: “When I was given the opportunity by the chairman I could not say no.

“I’m very excited to join Burton Albion and follow in the footsteps of Gary Rowett and Nigel Clough. I can’t wait to get started and I’m delighted to be given the opportunity.

“I’m looking forward to working with the players. Until now they have done really well and I’m looking to take them a step further. I have seen quite a bit of them and I’m excited to be working with a talented group.”

“I have not played myself at the Pirelli Stadium but I have coached the Nottingham Forest Under 21s at the stadium. I’m also delighted with our training facilities being at St George’s Park - they are the best in the country, which was a plus on my decision.”
