Steve Eyre was most recently first-team coach at Chesterfield FC.

Eyre previously was caretaker manager at Huddersfield Town.

Eyre was previously in charge of Rochdale in npower League One. He was appointed on June 12, 2011 and he remained with the club until December of that year.

The former Manchester City youth team coach replaced Keith Hill, who left the League One side to take over Championship club Barnsley.

On accepting the role, Eyre entered his first position in league management. He currently holds the UEFA A License. The highlight of his tenure was a 2-0 win at Premier League side QPR in the second round of the Carling Cup.

Eyre moved to Spotland after a 21-year spell at Manchester City where he helped guide their youngsters to five league titles and two FA Youth Cup finals.
