ROBERTO
MANCINI

Roberto Mancini was most recently manager of Inter Milan.

Mancini has enjoyed managerial success in Italy, most notably with Inter Milan where he won three league titles and two Italian Cups.

Mancini also enjoyed an extremely successful playing career where in his twenty years in the professional game he represented Bologna, Sampdoria and Lazio. He actually ended his playing career in England with Leicester City.

For the Italian national team, Mancini earned 36 senior caps and 26 at under 21 level. His honours included two Serie A titles, six Italian Cup winners' medals and two Uefa Cup winners’ medals.

He entered management in English football for the first time with Manchester City following the appointment after spells in Italy with Inter Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina.

Mancini guided City to 5th place in the Barclays Premier League in 2009/10, their highest ever Premier League finish. This resulted in European qualification for the first time since 1978 as a result of their league position.

More success was to follow for both Mancini and Manchester City the following campaign. As a result of their fine league form, he was awarded the manager of the month award for December. The club then ended a 35 year spell without a major trophy with a FA Cup Final victory over Stoke City at Wembley.

Joyous Manchester City also went onto secure a place in the Champions League group stages by clinching third spot in the Barclays Premier League, their highest league finish since 1977.

Another fantastic season followed in 2011/12, as Mancini guided City to the Barclays Premier League title and they were crowned champions for the first time in 44 years.

After his departure from Manchester City, he joined Galatasaray into the 2013/14 season before he returned to Inter during the 2014/15 season.
