Paul Buckle

Paul Buckle was most recently head coach of Sacramento Republic, after leaving his position as manager of Cheltenham Town.
It was in March 2005, when Buckle began his coaching career at Exeter City, as player-coach under manager Alex Inglethorpe and he continued in this role under Inglethorpe's successor Paul Tisdale.
Buckle continued to play regularly in the first team during this spell and eventually became assistant manager. Buckle played a key role when he helped Exeter to the Conference playoff final at Wembley at the end of the 2006/07 season.
After this successful spell as assistant at Exeter, Buckle was appointed manager of relegated Torquay United by new Torquay Chief Executive Colin Lee in June 2007.
His time in charge has been extremely successful, as in his first season at Plainmoor he led Torquay to a 3rd placed finish in the Conference where the club would miss out in the play-offs to Buckle's old club Exeter. Buckle also taken the side to the FA Trophy final at Wembley.
In the 2008/09 season Buckle led Torquay to fourth place in the Blue Square Conference thus gaining a play-off place. After beating Histon in the Semi finals (2-1 on aggregate), Torquay reached the final against Cambridge United again at Wembley.
It was 3rd time lucky at Wembley for Buckle as Torquay beat Cambridge 2-0 with goals from Chris Hargreaves and Tim Sills to return to the football league at the 2nd attempt.
Another, successful campaign would then follow for Buckle and Torquay, as he assured their League Two status in 2009/10.
The following season (2010/11), Buckle guided The Gulls to the play-off final at Old Trafford where Torquay narrowly missed out on promotion to League One to Stevenage.
He was most recently the manager of Bristol Rovers, where he remained with the club until January 2012.
Paul later joined Luton and his notable successes at Kenilworth Road were reaching the Conference play-off final, as well as embarking on a remarkable FA Cup run, beating Cambridge, Nuneaton, Dorchester, Wolves and Norwich.
As a player, Buckle began his playing career at Brentford and would go on to represent Wycombe, Torquay, Exeter, Northampton, Colchester, Aldershot, Weymouth and Tiverton.
