Everest Performance of the Week: Stevenage

(Nominations each week include Premier League, EFL Championship, EFL League One, EFL League Two, WSL, and WSL2 fixtures)

The League Managers Association’s panel, comprising of LMA Chairman Martin O’Neill OBE, Jess Creighton, Les Ferdinand MBE, Sir Alex Ferguson CBE, Barry Fry, Chris Hughton, Mick McCarthy, Stuart Pearce MBE, Clare Tomlinson, Carla Ward, and Rachel Yankey OBE has determined that the Men’s Everest Performance of the Week Award should go to Stevenage for their performance against Blackpool on Saturday 2nd August.

Alex Revell will receive the Everest Men’s Performance of the Week trophy.

Alex Revell’s men made the trip to the seaside for their 2025/26 League One opener – a third consecutive campaign in English football’s third tier.

With the hard work put in during July’s pre-season, the real stuff began today away at one of the league’s promotion favourites. New signing Filip Marschall started between the sticks behind an unchanged outfield ten that claimed victory in last Saturday’s friendly outing vs MK Dons.

Carl Piergianni captained the side, partnered by Charlie Goode, with Dan Butler and Luther James-Wildin the full-backs. Jordan Houghton and Harvey White anchored the midfield behind Dan Kemp, Chem Campbell, Jordan Roberts and Jamie Reid.
