The LMA is saddened to learn of the passing of Chris Nicholl, who has died at the age of 77.
Following a playing career as a Northern Ireland international and top level defender, Chris went on to become an accomplished football manager at Southampton and Walsall, managing 450 professional games, before eventually joining Lawrie McMenemy as Assistant Manager of Northern Ireland Senior Men’s Team.
Paying tribute, LMA Chief Executive Richard Bevan said: “Chris played the game with determination and honesty and he took that ethos into his managerial career. He made an impact on a great number of peers in the game, who had nothing but respect for him. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.”
