LMA PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK: BARTON’S FLEETWOOD TOWN HALT LEAGUE LEADERS

The League Managers Association’s panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett, Barry Fry Paul Ince and Rachel Yankey, has determined that the LMA Performance of the Week Award should go to Fleetwood Town for their 4-1 victory against Hull City on Friday 9th October 2020. The result was rolled over due to the International Break.

The experienced and highly distinguished panel has managed a combined total of over 6,500 competitive matches in professional football.

Fleetwood Town Manager Joey Barton will receive a celebratory bottle of champagne, courtesy of Tanners Wines, and an LG Performance of the Week trophy to commemorate the result.

Fleetwood Town got back to winning ways on Friday night as they beat high-flying Hull City 4-1 at Highbury Stadium.

Harvey Saunders continued his recent run of scoring as he managed to bag a goal either side of a Callum Camps strike from close range. Sam Stubbs also got on the score sheet to score his first goal for the club late on in the game.

The first chance of the game fell to the visitors as Mallik Wilks received the ball 20-yards away from the Hull goal, pushed the ball onto his left-foot, but his shot was easily saved by Jayson Leutwiler.
