SKY BET EFL MANAGER OF THE MONTH AWARDS: NOVEMBER 17

The winners of the Sky Bet EFL Manager of the Month Awards for November are:

Sky Bet Championship: Nuno Espírito Santo (Wolverhampton Wanderers)

Wolves manager Nuno Espírito Santo has been named the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month for November.

The Portuguese has instilled a swashbuckling style at Molineux. Not only did his side win all four games, they did so with ease, scoring at least two goals in every game and managing four and five against Leeds and Bolton, respectively.

Santo said: “It feels good and it means a lot, not only for us, but it means a lot for the club, for the squad for the players and the fans.

“We deserve an award for the work that everyone at the club has been doing. Everyone is important every detail, every bit of help that a player has in the right moment can help and make them perform better.”

George Burley chairs the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel.

He said: “Nuno had a 100% win rate record with Wolves in November to take them top of the Sky Bet Championship.

“Their attacking style produced at least two goals in every game, scoring 13 in 4 games in the month.”

Sky Sports’ EFL pundit Don Goodman said: “It’s no exaggeration to say that Wolves are blowing the Championship away at the moment. Of their last ten league games, they’ve won nine and lost only one, scoring 26 goals in the process.

“There have been a lot of teams who have spent a lot of money in the Championship over the last few years, which has proved to be no guarantee of success. It’s fair to say that none have got their side playing in as dominating a way as Nuno has now.''

Sky Bet EFL trader Mikey Mumford said: “November was a flawless month for Nuno Espírito Santo as his side blew away all comers and conceded just twice in the process.

“It now looks like being a monumental task for any of the chasing pack to dislodge Wolves at the summit of the Championship and comprehensive wins in the month against Fulham and Leeds further proves their title credentials.

“They entered the month as 10/11 favourites at Sky Bet for the title and ended it considerably shorter at 2/7 and the Portuguese deserves enormous credit for transforming them into arguably the most feared side in the division.”

Sky Bet League One: Tony Mowbray (Blackburn Rovers)

Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray has been named the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month for November.

The circumspect nature of Rovers’ play earlier in the season was abandoned in November as Mowbray challenged his side to out-score the opposition. They did it in style, winning all four games with a thrilling 13-5 goal differential.

Mowbray said: "It’s like any other week, im not big on personal awards to be honest. I think I’m just a cog in this machine that’s trying to help this club get back to the division above and trying to win matches. We’ve had a decent month but we have to keep it going.

“It’s a reward for everybody’s efforts as everybody’s worked extremely hard.”

George Burley chairs the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel.

He said: “Tony has got Blackburn back on track and put them into contention for promotion. This month they won all four games and did it in some style.”

Sky Sports’ EFL pundit Don Goodman said: “Tony is succeeding at Blackburn where many before him have failed and it’s a real testament to his ability as a manager not only of the players, but of the situation, that the results on the pitch are so good.

“A 100% record in a month comes as a result of hard work from the top down and Mowbray will be hoping for much more into the New Year and beyond.”

Sky Bet EFL trader Mikey Mumford said: “Blackburn got off to a tardy start to life in League One but November could be a turning point in the season for Tony Mowbray and his side as they look for an instant return to the second tier.

“The Rovers boss oversaw four straight victories taking them to fourth in the table and within three points of the automatic places and it is those quartet of wins which forced their title price to contract into 11/4 having been available to back at 10/1 at the start of the month.

“Mowbray’s experience and know how at this level might just be the difference in bridging the gap to leaders Wigan but Blackburn are starting to show why they were early season favourites for Sky Bet League One’s top honours.”

Sky Bet League Two: Nathan Jones (Luton Town)

Luton Town manager Nathan Jones has been named the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month for November.

After scoring 13 goals in five games to win the October award, his attack-minded side were even more irresistible in November, finding the net 14 times in four matches, collecting 10 points and sweeping Cambridge aside 7-0 in the process.

Jones said: " I’m very proud. Obviously, I said last month it’s an accumulation of not just my work but the work of my staff and players collectively. It’s been another fantastic month in terms of results and performances and I’m very proud to receive it.

“The pleasing thing about this month is it would’ve been quite easy for the players to rest on their laurels but they haven’t and they’ve wanted to do even better this month.”

George Burley chairs the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel.

He said: “Nathan has again kept Luton’s attacking form going through November. They collected 10 points from four games scoring 14 goals including an amazing 7–0 win against Cambridge in the month.”

Sky Sports’ EFL pundit Don Goodman said: “It’s incredibly rare to see a manager win back to back monthly awards because of the huge number of variables involved in football.

“Jones managed to use last month’s success as a springboard and pulled off another string of great results, including another seven-goal rout.”

Sky Bet EFL trader Mikey Mumford said: “There seems to be a similar pattern emerging at Luton and that is goals are almost guaranteed at Kenilworth Road.

“Nathan Jones was right when he insisted his sides flurry of goals were no fluke when the Hatters became the only team in EFL history to score seven or more goals on three occasions before Christmas.

“Cambridge became the latest casualties in November joining Yeovil on the opening day and Stevenage, and there is a real clinicality to the way Jones’ side have played this season which is no surprise given the attacking talent at his disposal.

“Luton are now considerable odds on shots at 8/15 to win the title and promotion looks a given at 1/12.”

The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Ipswich Town manager George Burley, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Marketing Director Drew Barrand, League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet EFL trader Mikey Mumford
