NOTTINGHAM FOREST APPOINT MARK WARBURTON

Nottingham Forest are delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Warburton as the club’s first-team manager, replacing Gary Brazil.

The 54-year-old will be joined at the club by David Weir who takes on the role of assistant manager. The pair have signed two-and-a-half-year contracts with The Reds and join after leaving Glasgow Rangers last month.

Warburton began his coaching career at Watford’s academy before being appointed first-team coach at Brentford in February 2011. He became manager at Griffin Park in December 2013 and led them to promotion to the Championship where he then achieved a fifth-place finish in the following season, losing in the play-offs.

He joined Glasgow Rangers in June 2015 and guided them to the Scottish Championship title as well as the Scottish Challenge Cup.
