JOHN NEAL: 1932 - 2014

The LMA is deeply saddened at the news that John Neal has died this week aged 82.  John is survived by a son and daughter.

John’s funeral will take place on Thursday 4th December 2014 at 2pm at St Giles Church, Church Street, Wrexham, LL13 8LY.

John began his managerial career at Wrexham in 1968 where he achieved a promotion to the Third Division. 

He went on to take charge of Chelsea and Middlesbrough. At Chelsea John led the club to the 1984 Second Division title.

He played professionally for Hull City, Swindon Town, Aston Villa and Southend United. At Aston Villa he was a member of the side which won the inaugural Football League Cup in 1961.
