LG PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK: TISDALE FIRST TO TAKE THREE POINTS FROM POMPEY

The League Managers Association five-man Performance of the Week panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, were in agreement that this week the LG Performance of the Week Award should go to Exeter City following their stunning 2-1 victory against Portsmouth in Sky Bet League Two on Tuesday 29th September 2015.

The experienced and highly distinguished panel has managed a combined total of over 6,000 competitive matches in professional football.

Exeter City, Paul Tisdale, will receive a specially commissioned trophy made by world renowned silversmiths and LMA Partner, Thomas Lyte of London, in a presentation to commemorate the award.

City’s win away against the league leaders was home team’s first defeat of the season, as goals from David Wheeler and Arron Davies secured the three points for Tisdale’s side.

Tisdale told the club’s official website: “Fratton Park is a great place to come and play football, and always presents a great challenge. It was a big game for us, and we did the job.”

““We’ve been here the past two years and taken Portsmouth on and opened things up and come away with nothing. We could have done that again today, but having just lost two games, it was too important for us to take any chances today, and we played a very disciplined game.”
