LG PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK: POCHETTINO MAINTAINS PERFECT START TO THE SEASON WITH WIN AT OLD TRAFFORD

The League Managers Association’s five-man panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, has determined that the LG Performance of the Week Award should go to Tottenham Hotspur for their 3-0 victory against Manchester United on Monday 27th August 2018.

The experienced and highly distinguished panel has managed a combined total of over 6,000 competitive matches in professional football.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino will receive a celebratory bottle of champagne, courtesy of Tanners Wines, and an LG Performance of the Week trophy in a presentation to commemorate the result.

Match Report

A five-year wait for a goal at Old Trafford ended with three in 34 minutes as Tottenham Hostpur registered a memorable win over Manchester United to maintain our 100 per cent start to the season on Monday night.

In an enthralling game under the lights, the sparkling Lucas Moura had a big shout for a penalty waved away in the first half but Tottenham continued to move up through the gears and Harry Kane's excellently-placed header from Kieran Trippier's corner gave Spurs a deserved lead five minutes after the interval.

Hugo Lloris preserved that advantage straight away by denying Romelu Lukaku before the always dangerous Lucas quickly doubled the lead, later gliding past Chris Smalling one-v-one and slamming in an eye-catching third with six minutes left.
