LG PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK: PEP’S CITY CRUISE THROUGH TO FOURTH ROUND OF THE FA CUP
The League Managers Association’s five-man panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, has determined that the LG Performance of the Week Award should go to Manchester City following their 5-0 victory against West Ham United on Friday 6th January 2017 in the FA Cup.
The experienced and highly distinguished panel has managed a combined total of over 6,000 competitive matches in professional football.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will receive a celebratory bottle of champagne, courtesy of Tanners Wines, and a LG Performance of the Week trophy in a presentation to commemorate the result.
Man City cruised into the FA Cup fourth round after an emphatic 5-0 win over West Ham.
The Blues were at their scintillating best in the opening period when three goals from Yaya Toure, David Silva and an own goal from Havard Nordtveit within a 10-minute spell, ripped the hosts apart.
Further strikes after half-time from Sergio Aguero and a late fifth from John Stones made it a Friday night to remember for the Blues’ jubilant followers.
Now City fans can look forward to a trip to either Crystal Palace or Bolton in the fourth round with hopes of another trip to Wembley next May still burning brightly.
