Stale Solbakken was most recently the manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers in the npower Championship.

The Norwegian, who was previously in charge of Cologne in the Bundesliga, was Mick McCarthy's permanent successor, after Terry Connor took caretaker charge of the club towards the end of the 2011/12 season.

Solbakken, returned to English football having played for Wimbledon during the 1997-98 season.

He enjoyed great success whilst in charge of FC Copenhagen and led them into the last 16 of last season's Champions League, as well as five league titles in six years.

Solbakken won 58 caps for Norway as a player and represented his country at the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 finals.
