Sir Trevor Brooking CBE is one of the most intelligent and cerebral footballers of his generation.

In 2004 he was knighted for his services to sport after an illustrious playing career most notably for with England and West Ham United where he made over 600 appearances for The Hammers.

Sir Trevor won the FA Cup twice, in 1975 and 1980 and he scored the only goal in a 1–0 win over Arsenal in the 1980 final. Brooking also played for England 47 times, scoring 5 goals.

In recognition for his success with West Ham the club renamed 'The Centenery Stand' at Upton Park as 'The Sir Trevor Brooking Stand' in his honour on August 8th 2009.

He is currently The FA's director of football development.
