Keith Hill was most recently the manager of League One side Rochdale. His tenure lasted over six years.
Hill returned to Spotland from Barnsley where had reformed Rochdale during his first spell in charge which began in January, 2007.
After two seasons of guiding the club to the play-offs it was in 2009/10 where Hill would enjoy great success. He won the manager of the month award on two occasions, in September and December on the way to leading Rochdale to League One, securing automatic promotion with a second place finish. Their promotion was confirmed when they beat Northampton at home on April 17, 2010.
Rochdale had previously been in the bottom division of the Football League since 1974 and his success saw him being voted the League Two Manager of the Year in 2010.
Bolton-born Hill began by lifting a struggling team to eighth in the table. Then, in his first full season, he led Rochdale to Wembley for the first time in their history after winning through to the League Two play-off final.
They were pipped for promotion, losing 3-2 to Stockport, but Hill again guided the Spotland side into the play-offs at the end of the 2008-09 season. Again they just missed out, this time beaten at the semi-final stage by eventual winners Gillingham.
Considering Rochdale's last promotion was as far back as 1969, Hill can claim credit for turning the club into a competitive force.
The club then enjoyed another fantastic season (2010/11) as Hill's side competed for a play-off place in npower League One and ended the season in ninth place.
Following his return to the club, Hill led Rochdale to promotion back to Sky Bet League One in 2013/14, after two years in the fourth tier of English football.
The former centre back began his career with Blackburn. After moving to Plymouth, he made 176 appearances in five years with Rochdale before joining Cheltenham and Morecambe.
After retiring as a player, Hill returned to Spotland as a coach and became director of youth before his elevation to first-team duties after the departure of Steve Parkin.
