Jim Bentley was most recently the manager of Morecambe on May 13, 2011.
On becoming the Shrimps boss, Jim entered football management for the first time.
Bentley was appointed initially on a two-year deal to replace Sammy McIlroy who left the club at the end of the 2010/11 campaign, and has signed two further contracts since.
Before becoming manager he served as the club's captain, having been at the club since 2002 and was part of the promotion winning team in 2007.
Bentley enjoyed a successful first season in charge in 2011/12, as he improved their league finish by five places from the previous campaign. The 2014-15 season saw Bentley secure 11th place, his highest finish to date.
