Graham Westley was manager of Newport County having been appointed on the 7th October 2016.
He took charge of Preston in League One before a return to Stevenage, the club he transformed after taking over in 2008. He took Stevenage from the Conference to League One in successive seasons and was behind the cup upsets of Newcastle and Reading in The FA Cup.
In April 2010, having won the Conference National, Westley guided Stevenage into The Football League for the first time in the club's history. This followed FA Trophy success in his first season with the club.
Remarkably Stevenage then secured back-to-back promotions to reach npower League One, with victory over Torquay in the League Two play-off final at Old Trafford. In the 2010/11 season, Stevenage did not lose a single game after they had taken the lead. During the campaign, the club also recorded a memorable victory over Barclays Premier League side Newcastle United in the FA Cup.
Westley's side, in their first season of being a league team following the previous season's promotion, repeated Exeter's feat of double promotions to the third tier in 2008 and 2009.
This success was recorded in Westley's second spell as manager of Stevenage. He began his managerial career with Farnborough Town and he also taken charge of Rushden & Diamonds and Kettering. In total, Westley has managed over 400 games in non-league football.
It was at Farnbrough where he won the Isthmian League Cup in 2000–01 and the Isthmian League Premier Division in 2001–02, securing promotion to the Conference National.
Westley managed Peterborough United, having joined the club on 21st September 2015.
During his playing career, Westley played for a number of clubs which include QPR, Barnet, Gillingham Wycombe Wanderers, Kingstonian, Wealdstone, Farnborough Town, Harlow Town, Enfield, Aylesbury United, Harrow Borough, Tooting & Mitcham United, Molesey and Walton & Hersham.
He is a graduate of the Uefa Pro Licence and the LMA's Certificate of Applied Management at Warwick University.
