LMA Ambassador Aitor Karanka visited St. George's Park on Wednesday 7th June to lead a coaching session for a group of local school children, in the fourth instalment of an educational programme run by the LMA in partnership with Clinigen, whose Head Office is based in Burton-on-Trent.

The Derby based school travelled to St. George's Park to participate in a day of activities including a sports science session, with specialist coach Pete Tierney, to help the students better understand how an athlete prepares for training. Karanka then joined the group in the afternoon and put them through their paces for a 90-minute training session on the National Football Centre Futsal Pitch before answering their questions about his career and experiences in the game.

The LMA's commercial partnership with Clinigen, which has been running for three years, has provided four local schools the opportunity to learn from LMA Ambassadors Nigel Adkins, Dougie Freedman and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink during the 2016/17 season.

Ella, a year 8 student from John Taylor High School said: "I loved how the coaches challenged us. They gave me some great ideas that I am going to share with my club coach."

While Will, currently studying at Burton and South Derbyshire College, said: "Our day at St. Georges Park was great, unbelievable facilities, talented staff, professional equipment which all has inspired me to definitely pursue a career in sport and exercise.”
