Prostate Cancer UK

Prostate Cancer UK – Campaign support

The award winning partnership between the LMA and Prostate Cancer UK started in 2014.  Prostate Cancer UK fights to help more people be aware of and survive prostate cancer and uses football as its main driver to raise awareness.  The charity reaches out to millions of football fans asking them to join ‘Men United’.

LMA Members wear the ‘Man of Men’ badge on match days and in the media, using their position as a focal point for the millions of people who watch football every week to help with the awareness.  In addition, the LMA Magazine publication, The Manager carries regular adverts, features and articles on Prostate Cancer UK campaigns and programmes.  LMA Ambassadors have attended cancer research centres (Roberto Martinez), annual golf days (Ossie Ardiles & Kevin Keegan), traded on Bloomberg’s floor (Harry Redknapp) and invited charity supporters to join them for a relaxed evening about football (Martin Jol).

The LMA membership have become advocates for the cause, participating in and raising funds at Prostate Cancer UK activities such as the annual Football to Amsterdam bike ride and Sky Sports Jeff Stelling’s 10 marathons in 10 days.

Since inception, the partnership has raised well in excess of £500,000.
